Management = Idiots??

My answer after what happened a few days back, YES!!

Seriously, they are not idiots coz they're born that way, they are coz they are too goddamn lazy to think.. Or, to give them the benefit of doubt, they are too busy to think..

Nah, they're jus too lazy. Period.

There are some problems that could be easily solved if they jus put their minds on it for 5 short minutes or sometimes even less. But they'll refuse to think and would call up various people to solve the problem. You can say maybe they are really too busy mah, no time to bother about such things.. Bullshit.. Asking a vendor to come down to fix the problem would take hours and hours and even days. In the meantime, they could not do their work properly and thus more time is wasted.. Duh.

I was complaining to Jason about what happened in my office and he told me a few classics that happened in SAF.. Really cracked me up siah..

Why all Management are idiots::

Scenario 1
Company: Citibank
The vendor came over to check on our air-conditioning system.. All of us were puzzled coz it’s working perfectly fine.. Turned out, it was a lady from the other department (our two departments share the same office) who called the vendor up coz she reported that the fans (in the aircon of course) were not working.. That they were not blowing as it should be.

The vendor checked checked checked, nothing was wrong with the system..

Except.. ..

The switch was not turned on!! DUH

Scenario 2
Company: Citibank
An outside vendor came over to fix up some cabinets for us, so we left our workstations and went to the pantry to chitchat while they do their work.. After they’re done, we went back to out desk and one of my colleague’s monitor was blank. She immediately went, “Why is my computer like that? What did you all do?”

Then she moved her mouse around, typed on her keyboard, switch on and off the monitor, still the monitor remained stubbornly blank. So she went on yapping at the vendor. Accusing them of wreaking her computer, that she have work that had not been saved, etc..

The vendor having no choice tried to help and found out the source of the problem. A loose cable.. They plugged it back in for her and the monitor came alive.

(Notes:: I dun really like this colleague.. she was speaking to the vendor in such a condescending manner, it was so irritating.. and it was not their fault that her cables came loose, yet without checking anything, she went ahead and scolded them. )

Scenario 3
Company: SAF
Some big shot came down for exercise.. Suddenly called the men over and asked them.. “Why my screen got fish?? Kenna virus izzit?”

dot.. dot.. dot.. .. .. .. ..

The men quickly took over, disabled the screensaver and ran away to the other end of the building to laugh and laugh and laugh..

Scenario 4
Company: SAF
Military man wear BOOTS, BIG HEAVY BOOTS that protects their feet as well as not letting them feel that they had KICKED THE COMPUTER CABLES.. n times where they kicked loose the cables and started shouting why their computers went dead.

Scenario 5
Company: SAF
Another incident where the monitor was blank.. No more cable incident.. The top brass was shouting at the men, how come he switched on the computer but the monitor remains blank..

Quick check..

The CPU WAS switched on, but the monitor wasn’t. DUH.

So are they stupid? Or are they STUPID?
